Cash drawer talk to the Total Control Lite POS through COM port.

If the cash drawer doesn't open while finishing the transaction, it's more than likely the COM port number is changed by Windows.


To re-configure the cashdrawer on TC Lite POS terminal:

  1. Click "Menu" located on top right corner of the POS screen then exit the POS software.
  2. Right click the Windows icon located on button left corner of the screen
  3. Choose Device Manager
  4. expend "Posts" and note the COM port number of the USB-to-Serial Comm port (in this case in the below image, it's COM3.)
  6. close the Device Manager
  7. Go to the software installation directory (by default, it's under C:\Program Files (x86)\Monitor WA\TotalControl Lite)
  8. Right click "TotalControlLiteConfig.exe" and choose "Run as administrator".
  10. In the Total Control Lite Configuration window, go to Cash Drawer tab
  11. -a If the Cash drawer type is Serial, choose the right COM port from the Comport drop down list.
  12. -b if the Cash drawer type is "Run File", edit the file configured in "Path of file to run" field using note pad and update the COM port number.
